Springing into action at the Made in Yorkshire Exhibition 2018 – Longcroft Engineering exhibit for the first time as Gold Members.
After weeks of preparation, Longcroft Engineering took up position on Stand 98 at the Made in Yorkshire Exhibition 2018. Held at The Centenary Pavilion, Elland Road Football Stadium in Leeds, it proved to be a day for excellent networking, and to coin a Yorkshire expression, was a ‘reet good’ showcase of manufacturing in the region. There was an excellent attendance at the exhibition, with industry professionals visiting not only from Yorkshire, but from all over the UK.
Longcroft’s stand was manned by Sales Director Paul Wild, alongside Office and Quality Manager Lucy Heap. They were later joined by Finance Director Sue Becconsall. Paul Wild said of the event, “We had a fantastic day at our first Made in Yorkshire Exhibition. My highlight would be the footfall on Longcroft’s stand. We are hoping to turn some of the many enquiries into goods orders, and maintain our contacts within the Made in Yorkshire family for the future.”
On the stand was a video loop showing the manufacture of springs, along with an array of sample products made by Longcroft, demonstrating expertise in spring and wireform design and manufacture. The video in particular proved to be a hit among the visitors to the stand, most of whom did not realise the technical knowledge required to make what appears to be a simple spring.
At their stand, close in proximity to the seminar room, Longcroft got to witness several of the interesting talks and presentations by leading Yorkshire manufacturers. This was in addition to the speech given by former Deputy Prime Minister, Lord Prescott, on unifying Yorkshire businesses.
Paul, Sue and Lucy were kept busy throughout the day with enquiries from visitors wanting to learn more about Longcroft’s unparalleled experience in the design and manufacture of springs, pressings and wireforms. Furthermore, Longcroft was able to gain invaluable contacts across Yorkshire that have the potential to develop into mutual business relationships.
Longcroft Engineering’s inaugural Made in Yorkshire Exhibition can only be considered a success. The doors it has opened up are plentiful and the company looks forward to developing the network of contacts made into lasting relationships.
